RAWALPINDI: Sohail Shehzad, the Excise and Taxation Officer, Property Zone-2 Rawalpindi, has stated that the deadline for obtaining a 5% rebate on property tax payment is September 30.
He told APP that the Excise and Taxation (E&T) Rawalpindi had offered a 5% rebate on property tax paid before September 30th.
According to Sohail Shehzad, citizens who pay their outstanding property taxes before the deadline would be eligible for the concession.
He added that all property taxpayers had been informed that the Government of Punjab was offering a rebate on property tax payments made before September 30, with an additional 5% discount available for payments made via EPay.
The officer urged citizens to pay their property taxes on time in order to take advantage of the tax break while cautioning that property tax defaulters who did not pay their taxes despite multiple notices would face legal action.
Furthermore, the authorities in charge had directed the field staff to expedite the recovery process and submit a progress report, he added.
