LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has pledged to build a model village of 100 houses in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
In addition to spending a large amount of money to purchase tents and goods for flood victims, the LCCI officials made this announcement during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.
“In addition to building a model village in the area chosen by the government, we will spend over Rs.100 million on tents, food, and other items for flood victims,” LCCI President told the PM during a meeting.
The premier stated that all possible measures were being taken to help the country’s economy recover while agreeing with the LCCI’s proposals for economic stability.
He also directed all ministries to hold brief meetings with the LCCI in order to decide on a future course of action through consultation.
PM Shehbaz stated that the role of the business community in the rehabilitation of flood victims was critical.
