LAHORE: In a significant move to curb illegal constructions, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) carried out a targeted anti-encroachment operation on Wednesday. Several unauthorized properties on Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, and in the Shadman locality faced partial demolition during this drive.
The operation was executed under the directives of Commissioner Lahore and D.G. LDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Additional D.G. Housing, Captain (R) Shah Mir Iqbal, was on the ground overseeing the entire process to ensure its smooth execution.
During the operation, LDA teams took decisive action against structures that deviated from approved plans. Notably, near the Canal Road Grid Station, structures violating the sanctioned maps were brought down. Similarly, in Fateh Garh Canal Road, certain commercial structures that were illegally erected faced partial demolition.
The drive also witnessed the removal of unauthorized alterations and additions in Harbanspura Canal Road and Ferozepur Road, including an illegally constructed basement.
The LDA’s recent actions underline its commitment to ensuring that urban development in Lahore adheres to the approved guidelines and regulations.
