LDA Demands Funds for Kharak to Arfa Kareem Tower Signal-Free Corridor

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has demanded PKR 3.25 billion for the development of a signal-free corridor from Kharak Stop Multan Road to Arfa Kareem Tower Ferozepur Road.

According to reports, the LDA requested funding in a letter to the Chief Minister of Punjab Office (CMO) to build a signal-free corridor between Multan Road and Ferozepur Road.

The authority has also requested that the project be added to the list of development projects planned for the fiscal year 2022-23.

According to the project’s planned design, it will have the following components:

  • There will be underpasses and flyovers along the whole length of the project
  • The authority will construct pedestrian bridges every 800 meters of the project
  • There will be an underpass at the Karim Block Market that will connect Multan Road with Maulana Shaukat Ali Road that will be used for traffic coming from Katcha Jail Road

  • There will be eight protected U-turns along the whole length of the project.
  • There will also be an underpass at Shauq Chowk for the traffic coming and going toward Ferozour Road
  • There will be an underpass at Akbar Chowk for the traffic coming from Burj Lahore towards Multan Road
