LAHORE: In a decisive move against the encroachment mafia and illegal commercialization in various parts of the city, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) carried out an extensive operation that resulted in the demolition of multiple properties and the recovery of valuable shops worth millions of rupees.
The LDA reported on Wednesday that it successfully retrieved 23 LDA-owned shops from Do Morya Pull and Teezab markets.

As per the details, these shops had been unlawfully occupied for an extended period.
Furthermore, teams from the Town Planning IV department executed operations in various localities, resulting in the demolition of several illegal and unauthorized commercial properties.
In addition, a partially demolished illegal commercial plaza in Sunny Park and illegal commercial structures in Iqbal Avenue, Jaafar Town Architect Society, LDA Avenue One Chowk, and Abdul Sattar Edhi Road were among the targets of the operation.
Under the leadership of Director Housing II Wasim Zafar and Director Town Planning IV Ali Nusrat, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional DG Housing Captain Shahmeer Iqbal (retd).
LDA’s Director General, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, expressed his firm stance against encroachments on government land, emphasizing that such violations would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He also affirmed that strict actions would be taken against those found responsible for encroachment activities.
