LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will now update a list of illegal housing projects on a weekly basis.
The purpose of this is to spread awareness among the citizens so they could make informed decisions.
According to DG LDA Aamir Ahmed Khan, this happened right after the Lahore High Court issued directives to safeguard the investments of the public in the real estate sector.
He also said that upon the instructions of LHC, LDA has allocated QR codes to approved housing projects so their transaction could be traced and investments could be secured.
Additionally, the QR code will show the details of the society along with the total area, total plots sold, mortgaged, etc.
He added that LDA had also instructed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to restrict promotional campaigns run by illicit housing schemes in the city.
It is important to note that both LHC and the LDA are committed to preventing illegal housing projects from scamming the general public.
