LDA’s Town Planning Wing Undergoes Major Restructuring

LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has undergone a major shakeup in which almost all the deputy directors and assistant directors of the Town Planning Wing have been transferred and posted to different zones.

As per the details, the move was initiated by the Chief Town Planner, Shakeel Anjum Minhas, on Tuesday. The main aim of the shakeup is to streamline the working of Town Planning and to bring positive results to the department.

The office order included a redesignation of Zone VII as Zone VI and defined the roles of deputy directors and assistant directors in their new zones, specifically in the areas of Land Use Conversion and Building Control.

In this regard, Chief Town Planner Shakeel Minhas said that the majority of the recently transferred Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors were working in the same zones or with a particular director.

He added that this move would help to improve the working of the Town Planning wing.

When asked about the transfers of Directors of TP Zones, the CTP said that this would be the next step and would be taken soon after getting the approval of the new DG LDA who had recently taken charge.

Notably, the reshuffling will help the LDA to revamp its working structure, and the positive results are expected to bring efficiency to the Town Planning Wing.
