LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) canceled its Chief Town Planner’s (CTP) orders for a major reshuffle in its Town Planning wing, which had been issued just a day earlier.
As per the details, the LDA’s CTP had reshuffled almost all deputy and assistant directors of the TP Wing, claiming that the move would have a positive impact on the LDA TP wing’s work.
However, the CTP canceled his orders on March 9, 2023, stating that the officers/officials should continue performing their duties as per previous assignments.
The immediate reversal of the major reshuffle raised eyebrows, and officers of other wings of the LDA were seen discussing and gossiping about it.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who was also the Acting charge of the LDA Director General, paid a surprise visit to LDA One Window Cell and reviewed the facilities available.
He issued orders to solve the problems of citizens and said that the orders issued for the convenience of the citizens should be implemented immediately.
Randhawa instructed the IT wing to develop a smart and digital information mechanism for the convenience of the general public.
He also ordered that a senior citizen counter should be set up in One Window Cell within 24 hours, which would work for specific persons.
The LDA Acting DG also ordered the administrative wing to ensure and implement the office timing of the LDA staff.
Randhawa emphasized that field officers and engineers should work in the field instead of sitting in the office.
He said that sudden visits would be made to the ongoing development works, and there would be no compromise on the speed and quality of the works.
