LAHORE: In a sweeping two-day operation against encroachments, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has demolished approximately 500 shops and properties, resulting in the arrest of 12 individuals for obstructing government activities.
Under the direct supervision of the Lahore Commissioner and DG LDA, expert teams executed a meticulously planned operation along College Road, successfully eliminating encroachments and restoring order.
This extensive operation also led to the apprehension of around a dozen individuals linked to encroachments on government land.
Moreover, the area experienced a heightened police presence as part of the coordinated effort to ensure a smooth operation.
The removal of encroachments has breathed new life into the commercial landscape of the area.
Besides, the private banks, commercial stores, grocery centers, salons, and food points have finally been liberated from encroachments, greatly enhancing accessibility for the public.
The details suggest that despite numerous prior warnings regarding encroachments along College Road, no substantial action had been taken until this recent crackdown.
