LAHORE: On Tuesday, a Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench, headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, requested replies to a plea filed by Farah Shehzadi, also known as Farah Gogi.
The court issued these directives in light of a plea seeking court directions to revoke a notice issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on an inquiry that was previously closed.
Furthermore, the petitioner also requested information on pending inquiries against her.
Farah Gogi’s lawyer, Azhar Siddique, claimed that the NAB had reopened the inquiry following vested interests, while also mentioning that the inquiry had been closed in 2019.
According to NAB laws, the inquiry cannot be initiated against a private person, the counsel argued.
The bench, while asking for replies from the concerned authorities, adjourned the hearing until May 22.
