LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has terminated the services of 172 employees due to absenteeism and sent 125 regular employees back to the Municipal Corporation of Lahore (MCL).
The company also terminated the services of 47 in-sourced staffers. The LWMC CEO, Babar Sahib Din, said that the company is monitoring the entire system digitally.
Furthermore, the attendance of workers in the field and the time of vehicle departures and arrivals from workshops are being monitored through online applications.
Over the last three months, more than 400 employees have been sent home for being absent without notice.
The CEO also announced that modern CCTV cameras are being installed to monitor all workshops.
He added that the public can give suggestions related to sanitation staff and machinery on LWMC helpline 1139 or on social media.
