MD WASA to Launch Special Campaign to Hunt Illegal Connections

MULTAN: Chaudhry Muhammad Danish, the managing director (MD) of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), gave the relevant authorities instructions to initiate a special campaign to find unlawful connections that are costing the municipal body.

He stressed the necessity of taking action on a war footing while presiding over a meeting to ensure a full recovery.

The MD said that WASA was losing money due to unauthorized sewage and water connections, adding that extra measures were being taken to identify and cut off unauthorized connections.

MD WASA stated that all union councils would guarantee complete recovery and for this reason, the operational and recovery sections should start a united campaign.

He also warned that harsh measures will be taken against defaulters and asked customers to work with the department by making all outstanding payments to help WASA continue to enhance its performance and service delivery.

Danish also said that under the zero-tolerance approach, issues about drain covers and sewage were addressed promptly.

To guarantee that current development projects are completed at the earliest, he asked the relevant officers to visit the field, especially the locations of such projects, and cautioned that any neglect would not be permitted in this regard.
