MULTAN: The booking office of an illegal housing colony has been sealed by Multan Development Authority (MDA) as part of a crackdown that was initiated across the city on Tuesday.
The enforcement directorate team began an operation at Multan Public School Road and locked the booking office of the “Dream Land Housing Scheme” in accordance with specific directions from Director General MDA Qaisar Saleem.
As per the details, the MDA officials said that notifications were repeatedly sent to colony owners requesting the fulfillment of legal prerequisites but the owners did not show compliance.
The sources stated that the plot sales and purchases by the proprietors of housing developments took place without the Multan Development Authority’s prior approval.
Furthermore, DG MDA Qaisar Saleem said in a statement that there was no prejudice in the ongoing crackdown on illegal housing colonies.
He said that several awareness initiatives had been used to warn the public about unlawful housing societies.
Besides, Saleem also assured that the agency was making a lot of effort to stop these unlawful housing schemes from defrauding the government and residents.
