ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, announced that a database of government-owned residences of 2 Kanal and above will be presented in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Minister where the progress of identifying such properties was reviewed.
According to the details, the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Railways, and CDA have submitted details in this regard.
The Ministry of Housing owns 194 houses, the Ministry of Telecommunication owns 2, CDAs owns 5, and the Ministry of Railways owns 438 houses of more than 2 Kanal.
The sources stated that the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works will coordinate with NADRA to prepare a database of such houses.
Minister Azam Nazeer has directed other ministries to provide details soon, including Civil Aviation to also provide details of airports and airstrips which are not in use.
According to sources, the database of government-owned buildings will be presented in the upcoming cabinet meeting in a few days.
