Multan Waste Management Company Issues Notices to Citizens Over Pollution

MULTAN: The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has taken action against citizens who have been creating pollution and traffic blockages by throwing garbage and building material on roads.

The enforcement cell of MWMC launched a crackdown against violators, and ten citizens were issued notices for their actions.

On Tuesday, the enforcement team conducted screenings at Timber Market and Qasim Bella in the city and cleared the road by removing the material from the roads and washing them.

The team also served notices to ten citizens who were involved in throwing garbage and building material on roads, causing problems in uninterrupted traffic flow and pollution.

MWMC CEO Shahid Yaqoob emphasized that not only heavy fines but also the sealing of properties would be imposed on violators after final notices.

The summary has been sent to the provincial government for more powers to the enforcement cell of the department.

Yaqoob also mentioned that steps were being taken to resolve issues of staff and machinery shortage, and more landfill sites were being searched.

Besides, he urged civil society members and traders to cooperate with the MWMC for public participation in the cleanliness campaigns.
