Multan’s Anti-Encroachment Effort Gains Traction

MULTAN: The district administration of Multan has taken a decisive step towards revitalizing the city’s infrastructure and aesthetics by initiating a special crackdown against encroachments.

Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Omer Jehangir, a joint effort involving the Municipal Corporation, Multan Development Authority (MDA), and Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) was launched.

This operation employed heavy machinery and targeted encroachments in various areas, including Gulgasht, Brand Road, and Goal Bagh.

Furthermore, the operation led to the demolition of illegal constructions and the removal of encroachments from roads and the Gardezi Market.

DC Omer Jehangir emphasized the cooperation extended by traders and other stakeholders during the operation.

He stated that this crackdown aims to enhance the city’s infrastructure and address traffic-related challenges.

The DC further highlighted the importance of establishing separate parking spaces for commercial buildings and plazas, indicating that a deadline had been set for their implementation.

He also added that a comprehensive strategy has been formulated to extend the anti-encroachment operation to other parts of the city.
