MWMC Takes Strict Measures Against Road Littering, Warns of Property Sealing

MULTAN: Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has issued notices to more than 10 property owners to tackle the problem of debris and waste being thrown on roads.

The Enforcement Cell of MWMC conducted inspections across the city under the guidance of CEO Shahid Yaqub.

CEO Shahid Yaqoob expressed his disappointment over the destruction of the city’s beauty caused by those who indiscriminately dispose of debris and garbage.

He emphasized that the properties of such owners will be sealed according to the provisions of the Local Government Act, which holds them accountable for littering.

In addition, MWMC is extending its support to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to ensure proper drainage and sanitation during the rainy season.

Shahid Yaqoob appealed to the business community and citizens to refrain from throwing garbage and debris on roads and to cooperate with the company in maintaining cleanliness.

To enforce compliance, the Local Government Act allows for the sealing of properties and imposing heavy fines.

The notices issued by MWMC provide a one-week deadline for property owners to clear construction materials themselves.

Shahid Yaqub also urged citizens to dispose of waste at designated points or in containers. As part of their efforts, new dustbins are being installed in marketplaces and central areas of the city.

MWMC has also initiated action against sand and mud trollies to further address the issue of improper waste disposal.
