LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore successfully nabbed a proclaimed offender, Babar Sajjad, from the outskirts of Punjab through an intelligence-based operation.
As per the details, Sajjad had been wanted by NAB for years in connection with the Grand Avenue Housing Society scandal.
According to reports, Sajjad was accused of selling 1,750 files of the society, causing a loss of Rs. 360 million to innocent people.
Despite NAB Lahore getting the accused’s pre-arrest bail canceled from the High Court, Sajjad had been on the run for several months with a liability of Rs. 360 million.
NAB Lahore’s investigation team has recovered over Rs. 900 million in the housing society, with the same amount disbursed to thousands of affected people, according to sources.
The accused, Babar Sajjad, will be presented before an Accountability Court today to seek his physical remand for the recovery of the plundered money and further investigation.
