LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has begun collecting property holding details of Chaudhry Moonis Elahi, a Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader, and his wife.
The Secretary of the Al-Hayat firm has been ordered by NAB Lahore to provide the information in this regard.
Moonis Elahi and his spouse’s profit and loan documents have reportedly been asked for by NAB.
The attorney of PML-Q leader, Amjad Parvez, however, argued that the NAB had already closed the investigation as no discrepancy was found.
He added that the anti-graft watchdog in its investigation had concluded that the FIA already had conducted a thorough investigation of all companies and no evidence was found while no damage was done to the national exchequer.
On October 4, the Lahore High Court had dismissed a complaint alleging that PML-Q MNA, Moonis Elahi had laundered $24 billion.
Earlier, NAB also initiated an investigation into properties owned by the former chief minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, and his family to ascertain whether assets beyond means were amassed during his tenure as the provincial government’s leader.
