NAB Begins Obtaining Record of Properties Owned by Former CM Buzdar

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) initiated the investigation into properties owned by the former chief minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, and his family.

The inquiry is based on ascertaining whether assets beyond means were amassed during his almost four-year tenure as the provincial government’s leader.

The sources informed that NAB has requested property ownership data of Buzdar, his wife, three daughters, and his two brothers.

Additionally, the bureau has also instructed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and other provincial developments to open investigations against Buzdar within their respective purviews.

Besides, records relating to the sale and purchase of houses have also been requested from a number of housing projects in Lahore.

It is to note here that this investigation is the extension of a previous inquiry, according to which Buzdar participated in the liquor license issuance and allegedly accepted Rs. 50 million in bribes to grant the license in violation of the law.
