LAHORE: Yousuf Abbas, nephew of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, petitioned an accountability court on Tuesday to stop the auction of the PML-N leader’s properties.
According to the details, the plea stated that the matter does not fit under the accountability court’s authority after the recent amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ordinance 2022.
Furthermore, on December 24, the accountability court scheduled arguments from the attorneys about the pleas.
The petitioner demanded that the court reverse its decision to order the auction of Nawaz Sharif’s properties and release all frozen assets because “all the other suspects in the land allocation case have been acquitted.”
It is worth noting that the PML-N supreme leader was deemed a convicted criminal in the Toshakhana matter before the NAB decided to auction off his properties.
