LAHORE: In a development coinciding with the final day of the government’s term, reports emerged suggesting a significant relief for the Sharif family.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was reportedly responsible for unfreezing properties belonging to the Sharifs.
While multiple private television channels aired this news, Asif Hussain, the Director of DG Cell at the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), denied having received any official communication from the NAB regarding the release of these properties.
According to the reports, the Sharif family experienced a noteworthy respite as the NAB opted to release their previously frozen properties.
The details suggest that this decision came in the wake of the resolution of cases by the NAB court.
It is relevant to note that the properties linked to Shehbaz Sharif and his family had been frozen in connection with ongoing proceedings at the NAB court.
Notably, the properties associated with Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz, Sulaiman Shehbaz, and others were all unfrozen.
Similarly, the properties owned by Shehbaz Sharif’s wife, Nusrat Shehbaz, were also unfrozen.
Among the unfrozen properties, there were those with specific details:
- Property numbers 96 and 87 in Model Town H Block, registered in the name of Nusrat Shehbaz,
- Plot numbers 61A, 62, 63, 64, 65, 68, 69, 70, and 71 in K Block of Johar Town, owned by Hamza Shehbaz,

- Property number 114A in Ghous-ul-Azam Colony Gulberg 2, owned by Syed Muhammad Tahir Naqvi.
This development comes amid the transition in the government and marks a significant change in the legal status of the aforementioned properties.
