MULTAN: In a special crackdown initiated by the Excise and Taxation Department, more than 300 properties of tax defaulters have been sealed within the last 48 hours.
This operation, directed by Director Excise and Taxation, Iftekhar Ahmed, aimed to recover pending dues of over Rs. 6 million.
Under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officers (ETOs), teams were deployed to various areas, including Garden Town, Sher Shah Road, Nishtar Road, Bosan Road, Gardezi Market, Gulgasht Colony, Mumtazabad, and Timber markets, to take strict action against tax defaulters.
Director of Excise, Iftekhar Ahmed, urged the business community to promptly pay their taxes to avoid legal consequences.
He emphasized that 70 percent of the tax payments would be utilized for city development projects.
Iftekhar also stated that all pending dues from defaulters would be recovered by any means necessary.
The provincial government has mandated strict action against defaulters, including impounding vehicles with a short token tax or lacking registration until all outstanding dues are paid.
With the current fiscal year nearing its end, this month holds great significance for tax recovery as the department maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards defaulters.
