ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Pakistan has requested information on assets, wealth statements, tax returns, and the number of plots held by superior judiciary judges.
As per the details, this request was made about Supreme Court Judge Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi whose alleged audio clips leaked earlier this year.
During the PAC meeting, under the chairmanship of Noor Alam Khan, the absence of provincial chief secretaries was questioned, and the National Assembly’s referral of the matter to the committee was discussed.
The PAC chairman instructed relevant institutions to provide Naqvi’s tax returns, wealth statements, and plot details within 15 days, urging the chairman of NAB, NADRA, and provincial chief secretaries to attend the meeting.
It is worth noting that the National Assembly referred the matter of Justice Naqvi to the PAC for a probe earlier this month.
