Pakistan Railways Police Arrest 3,189 for Violations, File 3,111 Cases in 2022

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Railways Police report to have arrested a total of 3,189 individuals for violating rules and laws and filed 3,111 cases against them in eight different divisions during the year 2022.

The police established Help Desks at major railway stations across the country and reported that their performance during the year was satisfactory.

They also reported that they returned 177 missing boys and 57 girls to their families and handed over lost luggage worth Rs 10.76 million to 2,081 passengers.

Additionally, they provided assistance to 8,979 passengers, such as first aid and wheelchairs.

It is important to note that the authority shared that despite limited resources, the Railways Police performed their duties efficiently, and they planned to improve their performance even further in 2023.

They also reported that they registered 950 cases and arrested 990 individuals for illegal encroachment on railway land, and were able to vacate 296 shops and 107 railway quarters from illegal occupation.
