MULTAN: Pakistan Railways’ (PR) Multan Division, after conducting operations in Layyah, was able to recover land worth Rs. 3.1 million from land squatters.
The details show that a team carried out an operation under the direction of Deputy Director Property Land Haji Muhammad and secured the release of 2.5 acres of state land from land grabbers close to Layyah station.
The official sources confirmed that the land that was recovered is estimated to be worth about Rs. 3.1 million and the report has been given to the Divisional Superintendent of Railways in Multan.
According to Deputy Director Property Land, the crackdown on those who are illegitimately occupying railroad property would continue unabated in the days to come.
Besides, Dr. Ehsan Sadiq, the Additional Inspector General Police (AIGP) for South Punjab, conducted video-link hearings on Monday and rejected all pleas from employees who were subject to departmental disciplinary action for involvement in criminal activities.
