The President of the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), Moazzam Ghurki, has announced plans to incorporate Chinese construction materials and techniques into Pakistan’s construction industry.
This move could revolutionize the sector and support Pakistan’s economic growth, he said.
He cited a recent report by experts from the Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) which showed a 6% growth in the local construction industry this year and predicted a massive 92% growth over the next seven years, with an average annual growth rate of 11.8%.
Ghurki also emphasized the need to stabilize the construction sector by introducing contemporary techniques and budget-friendly infrastructure from China, especially with more mega-projects expected to come under the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC).
Overall, Ghurki expressed optimism that these developments would improve the sector’s rating in the coming years.
