PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court’s two-member bench has ordered the authorities to take fearless action against the individuals involved in the sale/purchase and transfer of property in illicit housing schemes in the Charsadda district.
The decision came right after a petition submitted by advocate Asif Ali was heard by a two-member bench comprising Justice Roohul Amin and Justice Abdul Shakur.
The petitioner stated that a number of housing societies were being developed on agricultural land, which was a clear violation of the Revenue Department’s rules and regulations.
He added that despite the court orders, the violators have not refrained from such illegal activities.
Additionally, the court was also informed that out of all the developed and under-development societies, only one housing society has been following the local government’s Private Housing Act 2020.
The court, therefore, directed the district govt and police department to act strictly against those who have been involved in sales/purchases in these societies.
The court also ordered the District Police Officer (DPO) and district govt to submit a comprehensive report on the matter before 20th December.
