President Alvi Directs Authorities to Restore Valuable Property of Female Citizen

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has upheld the directives of the Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment of Women (FOSPAH), and ordered the restoration of a valuable property of a female citizen of Islamabad.

As per the details, the President ordered to bestow of ownership of the title of the property located in Bahria Town, to Ms. Aalya Fazal (the complainant).

The President ordered the appointment of a local commissioner and getting the property freed from illegal occupation, breaking the lock on the building if it is locked, removing any obstacles or barriers in the way of taking possession of the property, and returning it to the owner.

He added that the local commissioner can also avail the assistance of police if necessary, and the SHO of the police station should extend full assistance to the commissioner along with the police contingent.

The accused is of the stance that he had been condemned by FOSPAH without being heard and was rejected by the President in his ruling.

Besides, the President also added that the accused had not produced any evidence to support his claim to the disputed house and lacked the logic to file a complaint against FOSPAH’s decisions.

According to the information, Ms. Aalya Fazal complained to FOSPAH that her father, Chaudhary Fazal Hussain, had chosen her to represent him in managing the operations of his Bahria Town, Islamabad, house.

Furthermore, from 2007 through 2016, the house was rented out to various tenants before becoming unoccupied.

The complainant claims that when her brother visited the property in 2020, he discovered that it was being occupied unlawfully by a group of unidentified people which was then reported to Bahria Town and the local police.

The sources confirmed that the person who assured to abandon the property was summoned by the police and after that, a lawsuit was submitted in court claiming that the house was bought in 2008 based on a fake contract with a fake date of 02.07.2008.

When the complaint addressed FOSPAH about the house’s vacation, they granted the complainant’s request, while the accused subsequently appealed the orders by submitting a request to President, which was denied.
