President SCCI Calls for Sustainable Policies for Economic Development

PESHAWAR: Muhammad Ishaq, the President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has emphasized the need to adopt sustainable policies for economic prosperity and development in the country.

Speaking to the participants and senior officials of the 36th Mid-career Management Course at the National Institute of Management, Ishaq called for proper consultation with the business community during the formulation of policies.

Furthermore, the president also praised the bureaucracy for playing a crucial role in implementing policies with consistency and making vigorous efforts to bring economic stability and prosperity to the country.

However, he expressed his disappointment at the lack of sufficient steps taken by the authorities concerned for boosting the country’s exports.

He also stressed the need for commercial attachĂ©s and counselors posted at Pakistan’s missions abroad to play their due role in enhancing investments and the country’s trade and export.

During his presentation, Ishaq briefed the participants about the establishment of SCCI, its aims and objectives, various programs, measures for welfare and relief for the business community, the SCCI 2.0 initiative, and measures for digitization.

He also expressed his displeasure over the government’s lack of attention to the problems of the business community.

Ishaq highlighted the need for social and economic empowerment of women and emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities to them for the development of the national economy.

The SCCI President stressed the need for strengthening the liaison and coordination between the business community and bureaucracy.
