PESHAWAR: A property disagreement in the Regi area of Peshawar took a fatal turn as the confrontation between former Deputy Speaker Mehmood Jan and locals resulted in violence, leaving one person injured.
As per the details, gunfire and the use of rocket launchers were reported, causing the collapse of a house’s roof. The situation escalated further when the assailants set fire to a wheat crop.
Furthermore, swift action was taken by authorities, who promptly deployed armored vehicles, the Rapid Response Force, and a contingent of police personnel to the area.
This is not the first clash between the parties involved. In a previous violent encounter, a person named Muhammad Ali tragically lost his life while being transported to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.
As a result, a case was registered against three individuals, including former Deputy Speaker Mahmood Jan, who now face charges of murder and attempted murder.
Besides, the law enforcement agencies also stressed the importance of resolving the underlying property dispute to prevent any future escalations.
