PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s standing committee on Tourism, Culture, Sports, Archaeology, Museums and Youth affairs asked for information about the leasing of rest houses and their revenues expenses.
At the time, it was disclosed that the province had 169 rest houses and 19 PTDC hotels.
The chairman inquired about the leasing policy, the income, and expenses of the rest houses, as well as information on the play areas that cost Rs. 13 million each in Dir, Samar Bagh, Pahari Khatti Khel, and Jehangira.
Furthermore, the committee meeting presided over by MPA Mohammad Idrees, voiced dissatisfaction with the Akora Khattak sports ground’s inadequate design.
He ordered the department to provide information within the next three days.
Along with Additional Secretary Tourism Department, Deputy Secretary Finance, Deputy and Assistant Secretaries of relevant departments attended the meeting.
