Punjab ACE Summons Zartaj Gul Again Over Corruption Charges

LAHORE: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has once again summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former State Minister Zartaj Gul over corruption allegations.

The summon notice states that Zartaj Gul is accused of awarding contracts for various developmental projects to her “frontmen” at a lower rate in exchange for bribes.

She and her husband, Humayun Akhund, are also alleged to have taken a 10% commission for providing funds for development schemes in her constituency.

Zartaj Gul had previously been summoned on April 19, but the Punjab anti-corruption team called her in again on Thursday, May 11, at 10 am.

According to the ACE, the couple is also accused of revising development schemes that resulted in heavy losses to the national treasury.

The PTI leader has not yet stated the matter, but it is expected that she will appear before the anti-corruption team to address the allegations.
