Punjab Caretaker CM Directs Swift Completion of Akbar Chowk Flyover

LAHORE: Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, inspected the ongoing construction work at the Akbar Chowk flyover project on Sunday.

The project, aimed at improving traffic flow, is currently in progress with all piles and pile caps having been completed.

During the visit, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for regular project updates and directed a daily report on the construction’s progress.

He also set a strict deadline for the project’s completion, urging the team to finish the work by the middle of the upcoming month.

Addressing the design aspects of the project, Mohsin Naqvi instructed authorities to enhance the design of U-turns.

Furthermore, he ordered the creation of a model road connecting College Road to Akbar Chowk.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of completing the construction work on the roads around the flyover at the earliest.

This, he noted, would not only ensure smooth transportation for citizens but also mark a significant step toward resolving traffic congestion.

Once the Akbar Chowk flyover project is completed, citizens can expect a permanent solution to traffic bottlenecks.

The Commissioner/DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chief Engineer Israr Ahmed, and Contractor provided also insights during a briefing, sharing that work on 29 out of the total 31 pairs of the project has been accomplished.
