Punjab Caretaker Govt Clarifies Military’s Role in Corporate Land Farming Project

LAHORE: The Punjab caretaker government led by Mohsin Naqvi has issued a clarification about the allocation of 45,000 acres of agricultural land to the military for a corporate farming project following criticism.

According to a government official, the Pakistan Army would only provide a management structure for the project and the land would remain under the ownership of the Punjab government.

The official also stated that institutional support was needed to make the uncultivated lands productive, and the project’s cost would be borne by the army, corporate sector, and local and international investors.

The project would be executed by local farmers, and the official cited China’s success in enhancing agricultural productivity through the cultivation of barren land as a model for Pakistan to follow.

    3. my dear, you need to understand that our army is more important than public. agri graduates must buy their own land. our army is very keen to take charge of every sector in country. army is working from dawn to dusk. plz stop blaming our army for the bad in country. We should support them. entire Pakistan is for our army. public should obey our army in any case. if someone from namaloom afrad want to update my software or even dead my hardware for writing this, they can track the IP and location and can punish me the lesson to make me an example.

  2. doesn’t suit, the army may work according to the grace, domain and objectives of armed forces/defence Department, the agriculture sector may provided the money which is surplus from army and has been intended to be use for agricultural purposes.

  3. Totally rubbish as because Pakistan Armed Forces prime duty as all over world 🌎 & laid by Father of the Nation QUAID E AZAM to protect all BORDERS Sea Land Air from enemies & control mafia / illegal arms gangsters inside of the country as
It’s Army of Nation & not trading manufacturing unit of Pakistan

  4. Project cost borne by the army and in return they wound not take any thing, it is strange and hard to believe. With time army will overtake the possession of land and kick-out the punjab govt.

    1. If not considered wrongly it is not duty of Army to do everything if Govt want to burden them as done in 2000 the then Government in case of Rachna Doab project in the riverian forest of Ravi and Chenab the 29000 Acres land of Forest department was given for five years for raising trees for defense purpose which has unfortunately not been given back to Department till now, every year land is leased out for growing agriculture crop which is entirely against the spirit of the objectives of the project. If everything has to done by Army then for Almighty God sake close the Forest as well as Agriculture department to save the expenditure. No doubt Army has trained professional strength and perform work better and produce better result than any department in every field but it depends upon the land use in right direction not against the spirit of the project as done in past. It also does not look good to burden the army by putting everything on their shoulders then for what purpose concerned departments have been established. Please strengthen the relevant department through training, refresher courses and by observing strictly the department rules, manuals, revival of abandoned working plans , prohibiting corruption, stopping political influence, postings purely on merit and last but not least raising the moral level of officers and employees as they have potential to perform their duties. May Almighty Allah SWT shower blessings and strength to our beloved country, army، ruler’s , officer, officials and people. jazakAllah Thanks sir.

  5. It is not the Army’s job to run and manage any business. Their only job is to protect our borders. They have done Pakistan incalculable harm by their ventures into politics and business.

  6. Pakistan army has a long history of exploiting and usurping state owned resources. Their usual method is to build a park on a cream piece of state land they intend to occupy, then barb wire it and later develop it and sell it at a exorbitant price. Since constitution and law of Pakistan does not apply on them, so they get away with the loot.
Punjab government was definitely compelled and pressurised to part with this much of a land. Army has been in the business of thieving from day one, what is baffling is where the fick is supreme court with its infamous suo Moto notices?

  7. The Provincial Lands are allocated to Different Departments for carrying out FUNCTIONS as per THE PUNJAB GOVERNMENT *RULES OF BUSINESS*.
Is there any DATA to Show that “AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK & DAIRY DEVELOPMENT and FORESTRY, WILDLIFE & FISHERIES” DEPARTMENTS have failed to deliver as per Prescribed Roles ?
    If so
    The question arises :
Is AGRICULTURE FARMING prescribed in the RULES OF BUSINESS OF PAK ARMY, that too on PROVINCIAL LANDS.
    MOREOVER WHY IN PUNJAB
Why not in Vast Tracts of Sind & Balochistan?

  8. Last time about 30,000 acres of govt land, mostly forest land was taken on lease under proper agreement for 10 years back in the year 1995 but yet in their possession after 28 years even after taking the issue by the PFD on the highest level.
This is a land mafia and doesn’t care for legalities after taking possession of land and never return it to the owner department.

  9. The Punjab Caretaker Government’s clarification is as irritating as the act of handing over agri land to the military personnel. Why under Army’s administrative control? Why? What is their expertise in this field. Can’t the retired generals lead a retired life? Is it necessary for them to poke their nose in every matter? Would the Punjab Caretaker Government reveal salaries of these retired military personnel? This madness must come to an end.

  10. land occupiers of civilians
    Rouge army
    Property dealers
    Coward
    Many times defeated by indians
    Many times conquered civilian governments
Occupy all civil key posts as well

Ya Allah in ko tabah kr
Ya Allah in ko tabah kr
Ya Allah in ko tabah kr
Inho ne meray bacho k khawab chhenay hain…..

  11. Facts are totally opposite infact this all land will go to generals after retirement…..how can care taker government gives land to Army who allowed them to do this.

  12. I’m not sure where you are getting your info, but good
