Punjab Government Halts Funding for Development Projects

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has suspended funding for ongoing development schemes and new projects in all districts, including Rawalpindi, due to instructions from the Election Commission of Pakistan.

However, funds will be released for three long-delayed mega projects in Rawalpindi.

The Planning and Development Department has requested recommendations from the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) for the release of funds for the third-party validation of the Ring Road project, and the redesigning and expansion of the Katchehri Chowk and Defence Chowk Underpasses.
