LAHORE: The Punjab Local Government and Community Development (LGCD) department, in collaboration with the Bank of Punjab (BOP), has announced plans to introduce a digitized bidding and tendering system across the province.
The decision was taken by the Punjab Minister for Local Government and Community Development, Ibrahim Hassan Murad, during a meeting.
The new system is expected to transform the department into a model system by computerizing services and payments, replacing the paper trail and manual system, and enhancing record management to prevent fraud.
This move towards digital and innovative governance is in line with the Punjab government’s aim to expedite service delivery and reduce bureaucratic obstacles in public sector organizations.
It is worth noting that the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) has already introduced a digital land record system in partnership with the World Bank (WB).
