Rawalpindi Administration Seals 4 Premises Over Dengue Protocol Violation

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Administration has shut down 4 buildings and filed 2 FIRs for breaches of anti-dengue SOPs.

Dr. Sajjad Mehmood, the district coordinator for epidemic prevention and control, said that the district administration, along with allied agencies, had fined Rs. 118,500 and given tickets to 15 people for breaking dengue SOPs.

No dengue cases have been recorded in the district in the last 24 hours, according to Dr. Sajjad.

He said that during interior monitoring, 1,261 anti-dengue teams examined 34,375 houses in the previous 24 hours and discovered dengue larvae in 35 of them.

In a similar vein, he noted that during outdoor surveillance, 512 teams examined 15,474 sites and found larvae in only 1 location.

The health officials also noted that climatic changes that were unsuitable for the dengue parasite’s existence caused dengue cases to drop to their lowest level.
