RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment traders and Military Land and Cantonment (MLC) have come together to form a joint committee to address the issue of increased rent on land leases.
The committee is comprised of Additional Chief Executive Umair Mehboob, traders Chaudhry Farooq, Zafar Qadri, Sheikh Hafeez, Mushtaq Khan, Ajmal Khan, Raja Abid, and Sultan Mehmood, among others.
As per the details, the traders submitted objections against the 100% and 40% increase in the DC rate, requesting an equal ratio for commercial and residential land leases.
They also urged the abolition of surcharges and development charges to reduce the burden on traders and local residents under the jurisdiction of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.
