RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has demolished the dividers and road infrastructure of an illegal housing scheme called Ittehad Heights in Mouza Jattal, located on Girja Road.
The RDA spokesman said that the authority had issued a notice to the housing scheme before the operation under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and under section 38 of Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021.
Furthermore, the RDA’s Director-General has advised the general public not to make any investment in any illegal/unauthorized housing scheme declared illegal by RDA to avoid losses.
The Director-General of RDA has also directed the MP&TE Directorate RDA to take strict actions against illegal/unauthorized housing schemes, their development, construction of booking and site offices, and encroachments without any fear or favor.
Besides, the RDA has also requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines, and PTCL not to extend services to illegal housing schemes as their status is unapproved/illegal.
