‘Rawalpindi to Get Its First-Ever Regional Development Plans Soon’

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi will be getting its first-ever Regional Development Plans for the district and peri-urban structural plan for the tehsil headquarters.

In this regard, a meeting was presided over by Commissioner Rawalpindi Saqib Manan at RDA headquarters.

During the meeting, individuals from Mott McDonald Consultants presented the regional development plans for the tehsils of Gujar Khan, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta.

The presenters also shared the data with the government officials for their suggestions and verifications.

The meeting decided that a group of local government and RDA officials should be formed that will coordinate to ensure coherent work on the Urban and Rural development plans.

A Program Management Unit that was formed for developing the project will have to coordinate with the local govt and consultants in order to prepare site development zones and Urban Planning for different tehsils of Rawalpindi.

The Commissioner praised the work of the consultants and directed the concerned authorities to finish the work within the specified time period.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioners of Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal, District officers Planning from Gujar Khan and Chakwal, the Director of local government, the Municipal officer planning Taxila, and other officials were present at the meeting.
