RAWALPINDI: The district administration of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, has announced that it will soon launch an e-registration system for land records under the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA).
According to sources, the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, stated that the new system will eliminate the need for middlemen and reduce the incidence of counterfeiting.
The e-registration system will be linked to NADRA, a land record management system, and an e-stamp system, and will be developed with modern technology and software updates.
Besides, the initiative aims to reduce corruption and fraud in property purchase and sale and will allow residents to complete all revenue-related matters through an information technology systematic system, instead of visiting revenue offices and stamp vendors.
