Rawalpindi Waste Management Company Launches Cleanliness Drive

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has launched a campaign to keep the city clean and free it from garbage dumps.

According to sources, the RWMC communication teams performed a door-to-door campaign in the Union Council-39 on Wednesday to raise awareness about cleanliness.

Furthermore, to emphasize the value of cleanliness, garbage bags and booklets were provided to locals and business owners in the Waris Khan district, said the RWMC spokesperson.

Additionally, the teams pleaded with the locals to keep their homes and places of employment tidy and dry, asserting that keeping the surroundings clean would only support the improvement of society.

The teams also provided information on the company’s helpline, 1139, and advised that if citizens had any concerns about trash collection or cleanliness, they may call to register their complaints and provide feedback.

Besides, to maintain efficient water drainage and give amenities for visitors to the hill station, it was revealed that RWMC was also clearing snow and trash from the Murree districts.

Moreover, the spokesperson said that sites like Mall Road, TMA, NADRA office, and GPO Chowk were being cleaned nonstop so that visitors could reach them.

He said that the RWMC Management was dedicated to maintaining the city and that a comprehensive plan of initiatives was now underway with the active involvement of the local population.
