RDA Cracks Down on Illegal Housing Schemes, Seals Capital Valley’s Site Office

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed the office of an illegal housing scheme, Capital Valley, located in Mouza Katarian and Thallian.

The action was taken by RDA’s Enforcement Squad on the orders of Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, who has also directed the authorities to take strict action against illegal and unauthorized housing schemes and encroachments.

In addition to sealing the site office of Capital Valley, RDA’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering submitted applications to the Police Station Rawat to file First Information Reports against three other illegal housing schemes, including Atlantic City Housing Scheme, High Capital City Housing Scheme, and Century Town Housing Scheme.

An RDA spokesperson has stated that the Enforcement Squad is operating in compliance with the law and has issued a notice to the owner of Capital Valley, Sohail Nawaz Cheema.

RDA has also requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGPL), and PTCL not to provide their services to unapproved and illegal housing schemes.

The DG of RDA has urged the public not to invest in unauthorized housing schemes and to verify the status of housing projects on the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk).

The Enforcement Squad, including the In-charge/Assistant Director of Building Control, Deputy In-charge, and Superintendent Scheme, has been conducting operations against illegal housing schemes in the city.
