RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken legal action against the owners of an illegal housing scheme named ‘Rudn Enclave.’
An FIR has also been filed at Saddar Baironi police station, with the RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate (MP&TE) leading the charge.
The RDA spokesman stated that this action follows the directives of Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.
The FIR targeted the owners, Rahimuddin and Usman Shahid, who have been involved in promoting an unauthorized housing scheme.
Furthermore, the owners have also received a warning to immediately cease marketing the illegal housing project.
They were found to be advertising a project that lacked official approval.
Moreover, the housing society was conducting a social media campaign using images from a meeting with the Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division.
Despite an enforcement squad being dispatched by the RDA for an operation against the housing scheme, the scheme’s representatives presented a stay order.
The RDA spokesperson emphasized that the illegal housing scheme was misleading the public by operating without the necessary approvals.
Additionally, the Planning Wing has urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take legal action against illegal housing schemes for their misleading advertisements.
Besides, the citizens have also been advised by the RDA, under the special instructions of the DG, to avoid investing in illegal and unauthorized housing schemes.
