RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notice to TAB City Rawalpindi and other 13 illegal housing schemes on the orders of Director General (DG) RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.
According to an RDA spokesman, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA has issued notices to violators under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021.
He said that the relevant authorities were pursuing legal action against illegal marketing and advertising of housing schemes, at the direction of the DG RDA.
As per details, notices have been issued to 14 housing societies from the authority, including;
- TAB City Rawalpindi
- Turkish Smart City Housing Project
- Al-Rahmat Housing Project
- Nishan-e-Mustafa Housing Project
- Ample Living Housing Project
- Countryside Farms Housing Project at Mouza Baga Sheikhan Chak Beli Khan Road
- Pine Green Housing Project
- New Murree Township Housing Project
- Hope City Housing Project
- Bunyad Housing Project
- Tokyo Smart City Housing Project
- Green Hills Enclave at Mouza Lakot Expressway Murre
- Agro Park Housing Scheme in Ratta Gujran, Rawat
- Forest Town in Mouza Chhani Sher Alam, Rawalpindi
Furthermore, RDA has also filed FIRs against 3 housing projects, including Turkish Smart City, Ample Living, and The Countryside Housing Projects.
The registration of FIRs against additional illegal housing projects had also been made to the relevant police stations, said the sources.
Sources claim that the owners and sponsors of said housing schemes were misleading the public through advertisements, and the RDA’s planning wing had also requested the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing to take legal action against illegal advertisements of these housing schemes.
The public had been advised not to invest in unauthorized housing schemes, he said, adding that citizens may check the legal status of housing projects on the RDA’s official website www.rda.gop.pk.
