RDA Seals 20 More Shops in Anti-Encroachment Drive

RAWALPINDI: On orders from the Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza and the Director General (DG) Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) sealed 20 shops on Link Bajnial Road in Moza Pind Nasrala Rawalpindi.

According to an RDA official, the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing conducted legal action as part of an operation against unlicensed and unlawful commercial constructions.

He claimed that a large-scale campaign against such structures was underway and that authorities were attempting to prevent the illicit expansion of all the unapproved projects.

As per the sources, the operation was carried out by the LU&BC Wing’s staff, including the Assistant Director of Building Control, Building Inspectors, and others with the assistance of the Police.

The DG had ordered the LU&BC Wing to take strict action without prejudice against encroachments, unauthorized constructions, and commercial operations, the spokesman claimed.

Besides, a survey of illegal residential and commercial buildings in regulated areas of RDA had also been ordered by the DG, he added.
