RDA to Take Action Against 3 Illegal Housing Schemes

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to take action against three illicit housing schemes and warned the public against investing in them.

As per the details, notices were issued by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate on the orders of Director General (DG) RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.

It was shared that the notices were served in accordance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021.

The illegal housing societies in question include Cighu Country Farms located on Chak Beli Khan Road Rawalpindi, Countryside Residencia in Mauza Kaliam Mughal on G.T.Road Rawalpindi, and Mian Muhammad Bakhsh in Mauza Ranial on Girja Road Rawalpindi.

An RDA spokesperson disclosed that the authority has instructed the Director MP&TE to take action against illegal advertisements and marketing and file FIRs against these three illegal housing societies.

The Planning Wing of the RDA has also requested the Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA to take legal action against the illegal and misleading advertisements of these illegal housing societies to protect the public from falling prey to scams.

Furthermore, the authority has advised the general public and investors to check with the RDA before making any investment in housing projects.
