RUDA Warns Public Not to Invest in Illegal Housing Societies

LAHORE: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has warned the general public not to invest in illicit housing schemes which are being developed in the Ravi riverbed.

According to the authority, strict legal actions will be taken  by the government against the housing schemes that are launched without the approval of RUDA and if RUDA Act 2020 is violated.

The RUDA has also asked the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to restrict the promotional campaigns of such societies on media platforms.

RUDA has also advised the public to investigate all housing schemes before investing in any housing schemes.

Furthermore, RUDA was founded in 2020 and it was responsible to regulate the land surrounding the Ravi River.

The authority is currently developing Pakistan’s first smart city project that spans 45 kilometers of land and runs along the Ravi river.

The project has been innovatively designed as it is using environmentally friendly architecture and vertical infrastructure.
