RWMA Launches ‘Safai Nisf Iman Hai’ Cleanliness Drive

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Waste Management Authority (RWMA) launched a two-week-long cleanliness drive called ‘Safai Nisf Iman Hai’ to keep the city clean and tidy.

The RWMA spokesman reported that thousands of tons of garbage and rubbish were already removed from Rawalpindi city and other tehsils of the district.

He added that complaints received on social media platforms were being addressed, while a comprehensive cleaning drive was also being carried out on the banks of Nullah Leh and adjoining areas.

The spokesman further informed that the cleaning of bus stands, graveyards, and other public places was also underway.

To promote awareness about the importance of cleanliness, the social mobilization and communication team of RWMA organized an awareness camp in tehsil Gujar Khan.

They distributed pamphlets about the significance and effectiveness of cleanliness, urging citizens to participate in the cleanliness campaign.

The team requested the residents keep their homes and workplaces dry and clean to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and other diseases.

The RWMA staff appealed to the people to cooperate with the authority’s cleanliness drive and to dispose of their garbage and other waste in the trash trolleys located in every union council of the district.
